The Classic Inca Trail is the most famous and in-demand trek in South America. For 4 days you will cover approximately 43 kilometers of ancient Inca paths, crossing dreamlike landscapes, cloud forests, tunnels carved into rock and mountain passes exceeding 4,200 meters. On the last day you will reach Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) at sunrise, an experience that will leave you breathless. This trek has limited spots (500 people per day, including guides and porters), so booking 6-8 months in advance is required.

Day 1

Day 1: Cusco - Km 82 - Wayllabamba

04:30 - 05:00: Pickup from your hotel in Cusco.

05:00 - 06:30: Bus ride to Ollantaytambo for breakfast.

06:30 - 08:00: Continue by bus to Km 82 (Inca Trail starting point).

08:00 - 09:00: Entry control and preparation for the hike.

09:00 - 12:00: 3-hour hike along the Urubamba river valley to Miskay village.

12:00 - 13:00: Lunch.

13:00 - 16:00: Continue hiking (2-3 hours) to the Wayllabamba campsite (3,000 masl).

16:00 - 18:00: Set up camp and rest time.

18:00 - 19:30: Dinner.

19:30 - 20:30: Brief explanation of the next day.

Day 2

Day 2: Wayllabamba - Pacaymayo

05:30 - 06:30: Breakfast.

06:30 - 10:00: 3.5-hour hike to the highest pass: Warmiwañusca (Dead Woman's Pass, 4,215 masl).

10:00 - 11:00: Rest at the summit to enjoy the views.

11:00 - 13:00: Descent to Pacaymayo valley (3,600 masl).

13:00 - 14:00: Lunch.

14:00 - 16:00: Rest time and exploration of surroundings.

16:00 - 17:00: Optional visit to Runkurakay archaeological site.

18:00 - 19:30: Dinner.

Day 3

Day 3: Pacaymayo - Wiñay Wayna

06:00 - 07:00: Breakfast.

07:00 - 09:00: 2-hour hike to Sayacmarca archaeological site.

09:00 - 10:00: Guided tour of Sayacmarca.

10:00 - 12:00: Continue hiking through tunnel and cloud forest to Conchamarca.

12:00 - 13:00: Lunch.

13:00 - 15:00: Hike to Wiñay Wayna (2,650 masl).

15:00 - 16:00: Guided tour of Wiñay Wayna archaeological site.

16:00 - 17:00: Set up final campsite.

18:00 - 19:30: Celebration dinner.

Day 4

Day 4: Wiñay Wayna - Machu Picchu - Cusco

03:30 - 04:00: Very early breakfast.

04:00 - 06:30: 2.5-hour hike to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) to watch the sunrise over Machu Picchu.

06:30 - 07:30: First view of Machu Picchu from Inti Punku.

07:30 - 08:30: Descent to the Machu Picchu citadel.

08:30 - 11:00: Complete guided tour of Machu Picchu (2.5 hours).

11:00 - 12:30: Free time to explore on your own.

12:30 - 13:00: Bus descent to Aguas Calientes.

13:00 - 14:30: Free lunch in Aguas Calientes.

15:30 - 17:30: Return train to Ollantaytambo.

17:30 - 19:00: Bus transfer to Cusco.

19:00 - 20:00: Arrival in Cusco and transfer to your hotel.
